What are chakras?

Energy centres along the body — explained simply

“Chakra” comes from a Sanskrit word often translated as wheel. In many wellness traditions, chakras describe energetic centres running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each is linked with a colour, a theme (such as grounding, creativity or expression), and how we feel day to day.

When people talk about “out of balance” chakras, they usually mean feeling stuck, depleted or unsettled in one of those themes. Practices that calm the nervous system, invite gentle movement, and support clear energetic flow are a common starting point. At JKB, that can include simple home practices and — where it fits your plan — complementary frequency sessions.

  • Plain-language guidance — no jargon overload
  • Practical lifestyle ideas you can try at home
  • Optional frequency support with a practitioner
  • Complementary wellness — not a medical diagnosis

The seven traditional centres

A quick map of the chakras

Many people begin with the lower three (root, sacral, solar plexus) for grounding, creativity and confidence — then work gently upward.

Root

Grounding, safety and stability — often linked with the colour red.

Sacral

Creativity, flow and self-nurture — often linked with orange.

Solar plexus

Confidence, personal power and direction — often linked with yellow.

Heart

Compassion, connection and emotional ease — often linked with green.

Throat

Clear expression and honest communication — often linked with blue.

Third eye

Insight, focus and inner clarity — often linked with indigo.

Crown

Quiet connection and wider perspective — often linked with violet or white.

Four calm pathways

Powerful ways to support chakra balance

You do not need complicated rituals. Small, steady practices — plus optional frequency support — can help you feel more settled and clear.

Mindful movement and yoga for energetic balance

1. Mindful movement

Gentle poses reconnect you with the body. Tree pose for root/grounding, a supported squat for sacral/hips, boat pose for solar plexus. Move slowly, breathe, and stop if anything feels strained.

Nature and present-moment awareness

2. Nature connection

A quiet outdoor walk can settle an overactive mind. Notice sounds, light and scent — present-moment attention often eases held stress and supports a calmer energetic feel.

Colour focus for chakra meditation

3. Colour & candle focus

Soft colour focus can anchor meditation. Red with root (safety); orange with sacral (creativity). Sit safely with a candle or visualise colour as you breathe. Never leave flames unattended.

Meditation for chakra balance

4. Meditation

Find a quiet seat. Soften the breath. Travel from the base of the spine to the crown, imagining each centre as a steady wheel of light. Even five minutes can help body and mind settle.

Plus frequency support

Practitioner-led sessions at JKB

Some clients like to pair lifestyle practices with complementary frequency work. In clinic, advanced frequency (Rife-style) sessions can be planned around energetic flow and balance — calm technology, human guidance, plain language.

Frequency support is complementary wellbeing care. It does not diagnose, treat or cure disease and is not a substitute for your GP or other qualified healthcare professional.

In depth

More about chakra balancing at JKB

At JKB Holistic Healing we talk about chakra balancing in plain language: supporting a sense of energetic flow, emotional ease and grounded wellbeing — never as a medical diagnosis or treatment.

Why people explore chakra balance

Traditional chakra maps describe seven energy centres from the root (grounding and safety) to the crown (quiet perspective). When life feels rushed, depleted or “stuck”, many people find that mindful movement, time in nature, soft colour focus, meditation and — where it suits them — complementary frequency sessions help them feel more settled.

How this fits with Rife & frequency work

Advanced frequency (Rife-style) sessions at JKB can be planned around your goals as complementary wellness support. Some clients like to combine home practices with practitioner-led frequency time for themes of balance and flow. Your practitioner will keep the language calm and clear so you always know what to expect.
